Why Do We Immediately Forgive When Someone Hurts Us?

Singer Kelly Price offered immediate grace to P. Diddy, but did he deserve such swift mercy or is something else amiss?

Recently, we all watched the brutal beating of Cassie Ventura on tape. It was from 2016. The video captured P. Diddy, racing down the hall to knock Cassie upside her head; then he proceeded to kick her and beat her like a rag doll — needless to say, this was traumatic to watch. However, our response to the video shows us our belief systems and confusion.

On a recent Swell podcast, some members were divided on their thoughts about Kelly Price offering grace and mercy publicly to P. Diddy. I, and others like me, believe that she should have read the “temperature of the room” and kept it private between her and Puffy. While other responders said, “Well, here we have a Christian offering mercy which is the Christian thing to do, and now we are mad at Kelly? What gives?”
