After reading and enjoying Shanté Nixon ‘s 10 word story, I was inspired. It presents a challenge, but it stretches your creativity muscles too. Without further ado, here is my 10 word story.

10 Word Story Challenge- My Life Prior to Middle School

1. My sister brought her to us, one hot summer day.
2. The house rearranged itself into sheer curtains and Downy scents.
3. She had long, flowing hair tucked under a red beret.
4. She believes in God? A gentle bible thumper, with flair.
5. Choir: She wears white. Angels wear white, singing pure songs.
6. Mommy no more — Beret is here. A new, older mommy.
7. “Yes, Dad’s in love.” I accept it. We accept it.
8. Every day is like an hour, soaring on quick wings.
9. Years later, Beret-Angel-Downy is smaller with chemo treatments.
10. Years later, Dad and Ms. Beret are buried in memories.
