This was spot on and so encouraging! I think social media made things worse, because now we can peer into people’s lives and it’s thousands of them to look at and admire and admiration can sometimes roll into envy. I like watching educational and soothing videos mostly. The other percentage is entertainment, but I’ve had moments of envy in reality ( and still do).

While people in their 30s were financially set and stable, I was in motels and getting evicted. My self esteem was completely gone because in high school I was voted most likely to succeed and here I am seeing old classmates on LinkedIn who are financial directors and counselors while I struggle, cranking out articles for pennies wondering where the f$&ck I went wrong…
