If I Ain't Readin'

This was by far, one of the most engaging and thought- provoking articles I've read today, or even all week.

Your article reminds me of a Scripture in 1 Samuel 8: 1-11 Where the nation's leaders came to Samuel and told him they wanted a king. Mind you, up until this time, there was no king, and God had even warned the people by saying, " Do everything they ask, but warn them and tell them how a king will treat them."

He goes on further to say, " If you have a king, this is how he will treat you. He will force your sons to join his army. Some of them will ride in his chariots, some will serve in the cavalry, and others will run ahead of his own chariot."

I mention this because often we cannot imagine a king being nice and concerned for the people. Your article is making me rethink the whole "Queen" thing now too, although I think it has a nice ring to it and won't be offended if called Queen. However, I think if I had a choice perhaps in ancient times, I would rather be an Advisor or a Warrior. Those have always been more attractive positions in my opinion.

I told my husband about your article and he loved it. He went so far as to say the Word mentions High Priests as the goal anyway.

It doesn't matter our spiritual or religious backgrounds, we all know that having a king has never been a good thing.

Great job!
