This Sweet Potato Chicken Stew Was A Hit
Even though I was missing this one ingredient…
Last week I utilized my Crockpot for a yummy stew recipe I found in a recipe book. This article will not only be a written replay of the making of this lovely, aromatic stew, but also of its impact.
First of all I don’t make stew. I never knew how or had the desire to, but when I saw the picture of it in a Crockpot recipe book*, I was interested in making something that looked very yummy. Last Sunday I got up around 7:45 a.m. and began to pull out the ingredients I would need:
4 cubed boneless chicken breasts
2 medium sweet potatoes
2 medium white or gold potatoes
2 medium carrots
1 can 28 ounces of stewed tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon celery seeds(I used celery flakes because I couldn’t find the celery seeds)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup gluten free chicken broth
1/4 cup chopped, fresh basil(to garnish after cooking)
I still had grit in my eyes as I took out all of the ingredients. The morning light combined with the kitchen light was slowly toasting me as I diced the potatoes. My hands began to hurt…
