This part is so true. While attending church we are told to dress for church. That is code for European style of dress even in predominantly black/African churches. When my husband and I wore white, traditional African garbs, the blacks and non-blacks gave us weird looks. To us, dressing in gleaming white clothes and headwraps was us "showing God our best", but the fact is, it was not European/business attire, so offended people. We were told to change what we wear by a certain time(I'm paraphrasing). Needless to say, we left.
