This is what turned me off from teaching- I wrote an article about my experience. The final straw was me being threatened by a biracial girl holding a shard of glass she found outside. The administration let her “ sit” in their office then brought her right back to the class! I was a substitute teacher during that time and the main teacher typically was always out. When we get degrees, we get them to teach. We are not equipped to be counselors and security guards. Sad to say, my best experience was a nearly all white school where I could finally utilize my degree🤦🏾‍♀️.. hate admitting this.
