I’m always offended when I read that his films appeal to the lowest common denominator (yes, it’s white critics who say this). The same isn’t said for an Adam Sandler, or someone similar, offering.

This is great reading so far. Honestly, I liked Adam Sandler’s oldest films but some do criticize his work now and rightfully so. It’s just that non Black celebrities are not “ heavily critiqued publicly” or not as often.
