Her dating options, career options, and even spiritual beliefs are shifting for the better
Gone are the days where Black women were gaslit to think something was wrong with us and thus believing we are the(only) reason why communities are broken and ran over and neglected.
Gone are the days where we felt we couldn’t better ourselves out of fear of what the community thinks.
Gone are the days where we believed the pastor’s words were law.
The New Black Woman has emerged from the sludge of hypocrisy, misogynoir, and anything else negative. The New Black Woman has heard she was dirty, not pretty enough, not quiet enough or not LOUD enough. She has battled on social media for a spotlight of worth and found that her skin was not light enough for a million clicks and likes.
Men with her shade of coloring has told her that “he is not like that” but his fingers still itch for someone other than HER.
The New Black Woman has posted up article after article, video after video, begging and pleading for people to understand that she has been the mule on the chain. She’s made song after song about “Black Brotha”, “Brown Skin”, U.N.I.T.Y., and poetry praising the man who looks like her, only to be…
