The Movie ‘NOPE’ Is Genius and Chilling at the Same Time
Per usual, Jordan Peele’s film is packed with layers that may leave chills on your skin
People can say what they want to say about Jordan Peele’s movies, but he knows how to tell a tale that makes you speculate well into the wee hours of the night.
NOPE is such a tale, that on the surface, may seem like it’s familiar, but upon closer inspection, the events are ODDLY familiar and gets under your skin.
BEWARE….SPOILERS AHEAD!
NOPE is about O.J, who works the ranch his father owns. One day a strong wind comes and his father is struck by what looks like a quarter. He dies and then later you see OJ(played by Daniel Kaluuya) trying to promote his father’s ranch business, and in swoops Emerald (played by KeKe Palmer) and she appears to be livelier than OJ.
Where OJ seems slower to speak and would rather not be in the spotlight (this part is important), KeKe/Emerald is energetic and happily smiles into the cameras.
What is very trippy is that something is causing the horses to go crazy and disappear and it doesn’t help that there is this “one cloud” in the sky that never moves.
