An anime review of…slime
There comes a time when an anime sinks into your heart and stays there and you wonder how you ever lived without it.
While reading other manga, ‘That Time I Was Reincarnated As a Slime’ was promoted in the back pages and I remember thinking, “I don’t know if I want to read about a slime.”
The joke was on me.
Last week, I browsed Funimation and saw they had an anime for it and decided to give it a try. I’ll share a bit of backstory and my reaction to this anime.
The story is about a salaryman who is murdered and reincarnates in a sword and sorcery world as a slime with unique powers and gathers allies to build his own nation of monsters.~ From Wikipedia
The main character is Satoru Mikami. A 37- year old businessman who is killed and then reincarnated as a slime and how he becomes a slime and what he does as a slime, is what draws you into the anime.
You have the feeling that this is what Mikami was born to do in the first place. In his new body as a slime he is powerful, makes executive decisions, and he has amazing leadership qualities with a heart of gold.
The ultimate reason why I chose this show, is because the main character is 37 years old.
