Thanks for being honest here. It’s never easy to go public with these statements.

First off, for many black men, white IS the first choice. No debating that fact. You have black women on social media, desperate enough to ask: “ Do black men like me?”

Second: What your mother told you was hurtful and I am sorry about the pain it has caused. What’s interesting though is that young black girls go through trauma with their mothers too, including abuse from black boys and men in their families but somehow still end up putting black men first and choose black first as a dating choice. Thankfully, more black women are taking a page from black mens playbook and realizing they don’t have to keep picking men who will never choose them.

Side note: I am happily married to a black man , but I observe society at large.
