I was scrolling on Instagram and came across a post my sister sent me regarding T.D. Jakes admonishing women to “dim” down their successes to create a “hole” for men to fill.

More specifically, he said,

“We are raising up women to be men. We(women) are applauded for being men(for being tough) and femininity is not celebrated.”

He also goes on to say,

“The way things are structured now is a complete breakdown of society!”

The real kicker though, is when he throws the verbal monkey wrench at women’s rights:

“You are climbing the corporate ladder! I know you can buy your own car. I know you can buy your own house! But until you create a need for me to fill, I can’t be there!”

T. D. Jakes is one of the most charismatic and influential men in Christianity. He is mostly known for written works geared towards women, his most popular, Woman Thou Art Loosed, for which there was a movie based on the book as well.

Needless to say, T.D. Jakes is popular.

I loved watching his preaching and enjoyed a couple of his books back in the day.
