Stop Worrying About What Others Are Accomplishing Around You

The grass is greener on the other side because of excrement

There was a time I couldn’t stop hearing girls in school say they wish to be Beyonce.

Sure, we all wish to be thin with curves with voices of angels, but I never wanted to be her.

As I grew up I began to look at things a bit deeper: How did Beyonce get her start?

Even more microscopically, how did those in my family who are lawyers and business owners, get their start and would I wish for my path to be theirs?

The answer is that the grass always looks greener on the other side, but how is it so green? How come the lawn looks more neater than ours?

They use manure. Use water. Wait for the sun. Use labor to keep it trimmed and neat.

Stuff many of us would balk at and run away from.

The grass is only greener when you ponder it

This year, I learned that family and friends of mine are counselors, finance specialists, lawyers, doctors, etc.

Me?

I work with insurance (I can’t say publicly which industry), and I write in the evenings.
