Should I Continue To Support Asian Culture After What This Commenter Said?

An angry conversation made me realize it’s better to invest in myself and my own people more

Disclaimer: What I am about to tell you, happened a couple of months back, but I thought I’d revisit it, just to kind of “unpack” it and see where my heart is after all this time. This is not a rant article or a “diss” article, but I truly need an answer.

The model minority???

Last year someone wrote an article about Asian Hate or how Asians can be allies to blacks(I can’t go through all my sludge of responses to find that article. There’s too many). I remember responding that the Peter Liang case in 2015, showed me that there was hatred or misunderstanding for us blacks when the Asians marched crying out, “We are the model minority!”

In other words, “Let us shoot black people and get minimal or no sentencing at all. Accidental or not!”

That year, I still bought and paid for anime subscriptions service, ordered out Chinese food (and yes, I know there is a difference between Korean, Chinese, and Japanese ethnicities and culture). I still never let anyone say something cruel about the Asians because they are human like all of us and in my opinion have a
