Recently, my former job decided to "up the ante" by saying we had to process more documents in less time, and many of us were let go when we "couldn't keep up". The problem is that the amount of calculations and research that went into each claim had to be meticulous. We are talking about people's money here. I did excellent for a few years, but earlier this year the company "changed their minds" and wanted us to complete nearly 30-40 of these in eight hours.

When I asked for a reduction in hours(so I can focus on my mental health and health condition and creative pursuits), they never addressed it and had me in a half hour meeting to ask me why do I need to break my time in half...

I was born in '82, so I am one of those people who will email you and tell you I am not coming in, but I admire the new generation demanding to be treated as humans, because at the end of the day aren't we supposed to treat each other well?
