I wrote an article months back about what I’ve learned on this platform and trust me, there is always something new to learn. This year in particular I learned more about what to do with publications, topic matter, and the elusive Partner Program.
Medium’s Publications
I am so thankful to the few publications I am a part of. I did an article on how to get into a publication and right away I discovered that even if I write on a topic that the publication has asked for, if it is too cultural or has a Black person on the cover — it will not be accepted.
I have decided maybe I can come up with some publications I care about, but I would need to create more time to do that, and I already independently publish, and work a 9–5. I still want to create one though.
Topic matter
Believe it or not, I am not a huge fan of race topics.
