Jill Scott Says She Is Leaving America

And I don’t blame her

Actually, the article says she is considering it.

As a black mother, she has to because, of, well…

You haven’t been living under a rock. You know very well why she has to consider leaving America. She has a black son.

Need I say more?

Now, I mentioned in a previous article that these kinds of articles I loathe to write because they are emotionally taxing. Everyone experiences plight, but I will not All Lives Matter Jill Scott’s decision. Black lives are definitely more targeted than other lives.

In Travel+ Noire, Jill Scott says,

“Just to know that he will be on the road, just to know that he will be away from people that love him in a world that will decide whether he’s guilty of something because he’s brown. That’s terrifying. It makes me consider leaving this place often.”

I’m not a mother, so I cannot identify with that kind of pain. What I can identify with is her understanding of the system we live in.

Even though my unpopular opinion is that not all blacks who are killed are innocent — I believe most blacks that have been killed by officers, were innocent.
