I’ve officially left my 30s this past Saturday and to commemorate that fact, I did a podcast on life lessons learned while in my 30s, but I’d like to expand on it just a tiny bit here. I’ve learned things I did not ask to learn and that is the crux of living.

A genuinely nice person is nice most of the time. Not all the time.

Meaning, gone are the days where I believe nice people are nice. EVERY person has a mean streak when the right pressure is applied.

Teaching was never my calling.

I had a chalkboard and teddy bears along with loads of imagination as a kid and I enjoy reading, but it does not mean teaching is for everyone. I prefer one on one tutoring or teaching online.

What am I saved from exactly? I am learning about my Creator on my terms.

Education can be double edged sword. Like the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. We want to know so much, but when we pull back the veil, will we like what we discover? Due to reading and social media, I find I may have been misled by biblical passages interpreted by pastors.

Race is a part of daily life.
