It's interesting that I should see your amazing article now, because there are articles about people unfortunately, being quietly promoted.
This is when the employee is given tasks that is outside of their contractual duty, and they are not compensated for it. The important thing for employees to know, is that if their duties require "added tasks" per application signing agreement, then they may not be compensated for it.
However, if they are not qualified but are still placed in departments to do more work, then yeah, the employee should speak to the boss about that.
What I like about your article, is you encourage people to truly think about why they want to lead and be managers instead of just doing it to "change roles"
