Some may not like what I am about to say, but I promise to be balanced and thorough. That is all I can do.

So, what is hypergamy?

It isn’t gold-digging, that’s for sure. It’s a social science term referring to the practice of “marrying up” The opposite is hypogamy- “marrying down”; both terms were actually coined in the Indian subcontinent area.

In India, it was an accepted form of practice to marry a woman from a lower caste. Also, hypergamy was more common than hypogamy.

Scientifically, this means women seek men who have more resources as to better the future of their children.

It’s no different(in some ways) than men biologically seeking out attractive women in their childbearing years. Nothing to get mad at really. It’s nature.

So why is there talk about women suddenly saying: “Forget the man who is trying. Forget the man with nothing. I’m going after millionaires and billionaires. It’s my right. It’s natural.”

I think I know what is going on. It’s pretty clear when you look around you, and at the latest…
