Is Banning Tik Tok The Way To Address America’s Concerns?
Lawmakers want to ban Tik Tok but I think they may be facing the wrong direction on this one
It was 2020 when Donald Trump made it known that he was going to “put a stop to Tik Tok”. His reason was kind of vague, but what we all surmised is that he wanted it shut down because quite frankly, the app was making way more money than American apps and that the Tik Tok app “spies” on Americans using it.
Now, two years later, the conversation has changed — slightly. Right now lawmakers want to ban Tik Tok because the algorithm pushed on Tik Tok’s Chinese app is serving up better, educational content than the one that’s pushed in the American app.
Florida’s Marco Rubio is concerned about the app.
I call BS.
