Watching ‘Lookism’ on Netflix was pure gold as it exposes real life lookism issues
After watching a few animes like Flames of Recca and Fushigi Yugi, my husband and I decided to return to Netflix to find some slice of life stuff — just to slow things down. Not too slow, but something interesting. Netflix had Lookism on their main splash page and after reading the summary, I was hooked and pressed PLAY.
Here is my take on the anime with NO spoilers. You’re welcome :)
Lookism is a manhwa(Korean anime) based on a webtoon about an overweight kid getting bullied…badly, by these horrible students. When I say bullied, I mean this boy is humiliated to the point I just couldn’t look any more.
One day he wakes up and finds that he is much taller than his sink. He has crisp sharp eyes, abs, and is beautiful. He already had a beautiful singing voice, but now he is a total package.
I would love to spill more about how this whole thing works out for him and what happened with his “other” body, but I’ll leave that up to you to find out.
