I totally LOVE this article, Thelma! It exudes truth and empathy not only for the origin of the biracial, but for the consistent Black plight that fully Black people face daily.

When I reflect on my childhood, I remember in my neighborhood, those who were biracial or red bone had the best jobs. Darker toned people had labor jobs. Some could say this is a coincidence, but even now I notice that the “ cushy “ desk jobs and leadership roles tend to go to those of the “ right hue”. There are outliers of course because there is a good dose of fully Black folks holding down awesome leadership positions too.
