I see this happening, even with how parents teach their kids, telling them: "Don't go for the arts. Go for tech!" I mean, I get it. Unless you are extremely talented in the arts, you best to keep it as a hobby and do something else to pay bills. But I think it is such a sad thought that our creative sides aren't nurtured as much anymore...
