If I Ain't Readin'

I posed the question in black social media apps and on a podcast… overwhelmingly 90% or more Blacks agreed with the Dentist. So to clear things up, I posted:

“1) it is her(Dentist’s) practice and she can establish her own rules ( completely agree)

2) those who tend to wear slippers and bonnets tend to be “ ghetto, unclean, poor examples of black communities

3) backlash against these rules proves and further drives upstanding well to do black folks away from these poorly dressed blacks.”

When I stated this as a summation of THEIR thoughts, they said I was not being fair. But I said, “ Isn’t this what you are saying? Aren’t you saying we need to dress up to see doctors?

As the patient , it is problematic to go somewhere where professionals will judge you based on looks. Of course, showing breasts and behinds and not brushing teeth and etc are not acceptable.

But bonnets or slippers should be ok🤷🏽‍♀️ Needless to say, I no longer go back and forth on this topic because I know what society I live in. I’m not changing my mind on this.
