I mentioned this on a podcast once: that our stories are important.

If more people in our society had access to the legitimate inner dialogues of people from all walks of life, we’d have a much better understanding of our social problems. Instead, there’s an over-representation of the perspectives of the advantaged. That leads to the normalization of inaccurate and sometimes cruel assumptions.
