I had a similar experience. It was my first job when I was 18 and the nurses, whose ages ranged from 20-50 were so negative! They didn't gossip about me. But I'll never forget when a nurse told me that my future plan of being a writer, would not help anyone. She said fields like nursing was more honorable. Yes it is honorable, but she was so negative.
