I Did Not Laugh As Much At Chris Rock’s Latest Standup
The jokes hit different with this one
For those who said Chris Rock was “disrespecting Jada Pinkett”, or complained of him rehashing the Will Smith fiasco, have not seen the show — clearly. Although it is true he dropped the Bi?!h word too many times for my taste and made some commentary faux pas here and there, I still enjoyed it, but I enjoyed it differently than I did his previous standups.
Do you know where most wisdom come from?
Comedians.
We do not laugh at their jokes because they are lies. We laugh because they tell the truth. If you ever watched a comedian, you know what I am talking about. Not every comedian has this “third eye” of wisdom, but I dare say Chris Rock has it.
Chris Rock said some of the coldest, truthful stuff in the 90s.
“Who is the most racist? white people or Black people? Black people. Know why? Because Black people hate Black people too!”
“People during biblical times couldn’t stop folks from eating certain foods that would harm them, so someone said, ‘Tell them God said not to eat it’ But now we have Seran wraps and refrigerators. A pork chop may save your life now!”
