I Did Not Know I Was An INTJ Until

Taking the Myers-Briggs test was eye opening and maddening

I did not know about introversion until my mid-20’s in college when I took the Myers-Briggs type indicator in Psych 101.

Now, I was no longer, Erica the 20- something college student. I added another trait: I am Introverted-Intuitive-Thinking-Judging.

Introverted

I did not know I was introverted with HSP(High Sensitive Person Tendencies), until I literally told my father I did not want to go to prom.

My cousin had purchased a gown for me(without my permission), but the thought of spending a few hours with classmates I did not know or who did not know me very well, was not my cup of tea.

I truly did not want to go, but with a gown already bought, hair and makeup already completed by family and friends — I definitely had to go.

Walking down the aisles for honor roll and other achievements left me sweaty and I could feel eyes all over me. The prom was no different. I danced. I spoke, but it was still not for me.
