I Can’t Get Mad That JoJo’s Adventures Are Bizarre

My first time watching this anime and I feel I wasn’t ready for it

Here is what I thought JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure was going to be about:

Some kind of space travel saga.

Maybe Steampunk.

Maybe some romance in there.

Definitely some action.

I was wrong.

There is definitely a LOT of action.

Definitely some romance.

I guess when Netflix would splash the anime’s page on the screen, I would only glance at the title and it looked very Bizarr-ish. I would skip past it. My niece told me it was a good show, but I was saying to myself, “Nah.” Even though she never recommended a bad anime to me.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is about the Joestar family line. They have these psychic strength abilities and each one has a different story or encounter with evil.

I totally did not know what I was getting into.

Warning! I’m only on Season 1 but there is nudity in here and of course gore, so if you want the kiddies to watch, they may need eyes covered at certain points.

Episode 1 features Jonathan Joestar, who is intelligent and very athletic.

His nemesis is Dio Brando. Just as handsome and just as strong. The problem is that Dio Brando has it out for Jonathan and his hatred for him will fuel and spill over to the next generations and somehow an ancient mask is involved too.

What’s very interesting is that the anime is not about a JoJo, it is about several JoJos which is a play on the title, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. I am just now understanding that the anime is not just about the first JoJo whom I like. This is a generational adventure and even though it messed my head up a little, I see there is a bizarre pattern and I am here for it! Love it!

Now here is the absolute cool part about the anime series(in my opinion). Yes, there is some romance and possibly what you would call steampunk in it, but no one told me that there was gore, vampires, and zombies. The first episode does not prepare me for this, which is why when it happened, I nearly fell out of my seat.

The shows goes deeper and deeper into the “rabbit hole”. It grabs your attention, almost as much as the swanky music at the end credits. It will make you dance; I promise. I need to go find Roundabout and add it to my Instrumental playlist.

Have you seen JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure? If not, do you plan on it? Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you for reading!
