I appreciate your thoughtful, astute answer! I truly do , and you made great points. I would love for companies to hire based on merit alone but we all know that’s not true in all cases. DEI programs and programs like affirmative action were not created so that minorities can get in places based on skin tone, it was created so they’d have a fair chance in spite of skin tone.

For instance, it was wild to me when people thought “ affirmative “ action let minorities/ Blacks into colleges like Yale.

Nope.

You have to be exceptional and have good grades still, of course and pass those exams. Any person can’t just “ get into Yale”.
