I Am Multifaceted, Therefore I Do

As a Black Woman in America, I am multifaceted.

I am Black.

I am a woman.

I’m American.

I am a Believer/Christian/Whatever.

I am Highly Sensitive.

I am not into politics, I’m split down the middle.

All of these things make me unique and to be treasured, but it does make me vulnerable.

Some days you will find me listening to heavy metal. Hours later, I am trying to sing along with Fred Hammond or Mary Mary from my gospel playlist. The next day I’ll be playing Chillhop waiting for Barney Artist’s music or Dornik.

I am not one thing. I don’t think anyone is.

If you ask me what my favorite color is, I’ll proudly say, “Purple!” Purple is the mixture of blood and oxygen when it’s in the body. It is the color of royalty…
