I am married to my wonderful black husband, and some YouTubers I watch mean well when they are supporting black women’s mental health, and try to uplift us. I feel bad though when they go in on black men so harshly. At first, I was like: “ Ok, I get it.” But namecalling and wishing bad on black men has gone too far. I think about my own father who never left us and my husband who is the true love of my life and even the black men in my neighborhood take good care of their families, and so I see not all black men hate black women.

But let me be clear: as much as we defend black men even when they are rude to black women, we have to not put on a Cape for them all. Protect our own energies sometimes.
