I am a married woman and I credit you for your honesty. I’d like to say that at one point, that wife was the one with the nice hair, buttocks and youthful glow. Husbands are men and tend to like “newness”. The goal of marriage is to grow “old together” but it appears to be an arcane concept.

The beautiful mistress will always be a welcome distraction who can provide different energies to the man. She has not spent enough time, tears, sweat and heartache as the wife… typically. The only ones I feel bad for in situations of infidelity are the wife and kids. My opinion.
