How Dare You Say Writing Doesn’t Help People!

A long time ago, I was told that trying to get into the writing profession was selfish. A “nurse” I worked with said, “Writing doesn’t help anyone. Choose a profession that actually helps people.”

At the time, I had no rebuttal to her words. I shrugged and I think I mentioned something about nothing, but it wasn’t what I am about to say now.

After much research and real-life experience, I discovered that writing actually saves lives and/or transform them.

Textbook Authors

All of those nurses, accountants, lawyers and other professions have one thing in common — they learned from a textbook in college. Just like they learned from a textbook in high school and learned from a textbook in elementary school.
