If I Ain't Readin'

Hi KL!

Thank you for writing this and I will offer my honesty( as usual lol).

My husband and I have been married 15 years now, known each other for a total of 23 years now. We had a nice discussion the other night where we both concluded in agreement that if marriage did not exist, we would have still loved each other forever.

Our marriage was born out of me loving love and marriage as I had often read in romance stories but also because he is genuinely a great man in my humble opinion. On his part, he had always wanted a marriage and as far as children , we don’t have children but peoples have pressured us over the years. Much like the church “ urged” us to get married since we were living in “ sin”

Overall, marriage by law has been purposeful as far as life insurances, health and taxes are concerned and the array of witnesses to our marriage—it was a nice small wedding, nothing grandiose so perfect—but is marriage truly needed?

No.

A relationship involves love, trust, faithfulness , respect— all the things legal marriages are typically missing anyway these days🤷🏽‍♀️

Never do anything out of societal pressure. Not all stories move in a blessed position like mine.
