Hi KL! Great article!

Some people used to think white privilege meant those with money, but it means way more than that and goes deeper.

For instance, two ladies argued near Wawa one year, and the white lady was actually extremely loud for no reason. My husband and I got there just as it happened, so we minded our own business. Supposedly one of them parked in someone’s parking space?? I don’t remember.

What I do remember is that although the fuss was over, I no longer saw the black lady. A Black cashier told us, “ The cop arrested the Black one”— she didn’t use the term Black though, she flipped her hand to the brown side and we pretty much knew.

We were all confused though.. the black lady argued back , but the white lady was very loud and getting out her phone and such cursing loud near children. Even the cashier who saw it all , shook her head: “ Not fair” she said.

White privilege means protection. Early selection for best seats, best jobs and if they do wrong, they are still right. There are nuances to this so I’m generalizing here.
