I totally get that it may seem that I am undermining her success and that is far from the truth. If anything, I would gladly check out her film(s)/plays when I am able to and gladly cheer for her.

My article is simply meant to shed light on issues of casting darker tone women in traditionally white women roles as I'd like to see Black women in more unique roles to allow their wonderful talent to shine brighter.
