Here’s An Example Of Why We Should Stay In Our Lanes
Madonna said she paved the way for artists like Cardi B, and Cardi B is not having it
Madonna just celebrated the 30th anniversary of her 1992 book S.E.X. However, instead of just celebrating her achievements, she took to Instagram to rant about how she was shamed years ago for being sexually free while artists like “Cardi B can rap about W.A.P, or Kim K showing off her butt, and Miley Cyrus swooping in like a wrecking ball”
That was not all.
Madonna concluded by saying, “You’re welcome, B%$CHES!” with clown emojis.
Cardi B did not like that, so she took to Twitter saying,
“I literally paid homage to Madonna so many times and grew up listening to her…she can make her point without clown emojis.”
Cardi goes on to say, these “icons” are “disappointments once you make it in the industry.”
First and foremost, I do not listen to Cardi B’s music(I heard some of them but I am not an overall fan of hers). I too, grew up on Madonna’s music and Madonna is certainly a pop icon — we can’t deny that.
However, what would make Madonna say something like that?
