Affiliate marketing in a sense, is a marketing strategy where companies compensate you for marketing/advertising their products.
My 2009 experience
I was first introduced to affiliate marketing in 2009 while designing my blog The Write Web, which I have deleted last year to pursue other writing interests. At the time, I was looking for a way to earn an income through blogging.
I scoured YouTube for videos to help me.
I ripped through Google to find people who could teach me to make money through blogging.
After a while, I found Katie Freiling.
At the time, she had a gorgeously clean website that promoted affiliate marketing and she taught what it truly was about- building connections. With her fiery red hair and sharp smile along with the calming background scenery, she made me want to live that life, just through affiliate marketing.
I learned about Clickbank and Rakuten and felt myself growing very overwhelmed with information. It was hard for me to decide how to start.
Plus, my only interest were books and maybe space travel.
