Growing In Meditation Day 8- ‘The Hunt For Zen Apps’
A self-reflective meditation journey for 9 days
There was no calm for me to find today.
I closed my eyes.
I breathed in and out, smoothly, deeply.
Whatever thought came my way….
Remained.
I just don’t get it. My mind is a deep trench, and it is full of both brambles and berries. I think of meditation, and I am calm. When doing meditation, I am super distracted. I kept opening my eyes to check the meditation timer: “Is my time up yet?”
I looked out my window: “It’s a pretty blue sky today.”
I let the melodic sounds of my rabbit eating breakfast soothe me a little and then I hear the hum of my husband’s electric razor.
It soothes me too.
Yet I am distracted. I am watching the timer and waiting for it to end so I can write in my journal. Write my novel. Prepare for another 8–5 workday. Geesh! This meditation stuff is taking up my time, like bible reading in the mornings used to be.
That is not what I want to discuss in totality today though. Let’s talk Zen apps.
