Great article! My stance is that there is nothing we as girls/women can do to help MEN maintain their manhood. I understand that belittling men is not the answer but Black men have to at least take SOME accountability for the mess we see on social media and even for killing the image/bodies of black women.
The Gabrielle Union situation with their daughter/son Zaya is being blamed on who?.. The Black woman… as usual. What’s interesting to note is that this is a two parent home, but Dwayne Wade is let off the hook. When something’s wrong in the home it’s the Black woman’s fault.
Dating problems? Black women’s fault.
Low self esteem? Black women’s fault.
Father left the home? Black women’s fault…
Now Tichina, bless her heart, is asking what we can do to stop emasculating men?
Want to stop emasculating men?
Well, I propose that Black women sit back and take it easy. Stop working all kinds of crazy hours and just have peace and be home. Let the man provide and protect. Stop fighting for your “man” and marching and loud talking. Stop supporting films like Norbit which makes you as a woman look nasty and masculine. No more 50/50.
This seems too general because as women we can be both self sufficient and the “ help mate” but it appears to be not enough for some men.
