Excuse Me, Amazon Is Doing WHAT?

Here’s what’s actually taking place, and not everyone will be affected

On February 26th, Amazon will implement changes to the way eBooks are read, causing eBook readers to feel flustered, upset, and to spread rumors. However, it is important to remember that rumors are often only partially true.

What is happening and who will it affect

Amazon will get rid of the Download and Transfer USB option for eBooks. So, if you use the USB to fully download and keep books on any reading device, this feature will be done away with.

If you use a Kindle reading device or Kindle app — you’re fine.

This change only affects those who use the USB port to transfer eBooks. This method has been going on for over a decade, and to be honest, I remember doing that maybe more than 10 years back, but only once or twice. When Amazon created Whisper Sync, it made things easier.
