Everyone Is Having A Problem With Medium…
I do too — here’s why and what will happen
In this article, I am going to anecdotally address my experience with Medium from 2021 up to now, the problems I have with it, and what my next moves should be.
When I first started writing for Medium, it was as a reader looking for a place to write. I enjoyed the stories and how-to articles. I began by writing about my introversion and a few articles about anime. None of which got much attention until I wrote “Deja Vu Is a Gate” for Zora publication, and for the first time, my payouts went from 25 cents to $50.
Over time, I received thousands of claps, comments and followers organically and passively. I never dreamed I could earn from such a platform. I never dreamed I could earn from posting my thoughts and angst.
My humble thanks to all of you readers. Seriously.
My goal wasn’t to become a millionaire or famous like some writers have. In fact, I am happy with a couple hundred bucks here and there each month. It has funded much of my side projects, and I used it generously to donate to other creatives.
