I just finished reading the final, devastating conclusion to The Poppy War series by R.F. Kuang. The Burning God stole my sleep and any other kind of hour because the protagonist found herself in one bad decision after another, and the way she handled her choices caused massive frustration for many readers, even readers who gave the book five stars!

The reason this book gets all the praise and should be turned into a movie, is because we were right there with Rin(Fang Runin) as she burned herself with candle wax just to stay awake to study for one of the toughest exams ever.
