We want our teen years to be something we can look back at and say, “Gee! I was so stupid/Goofy/Beautiful/Ugly etc.”

But now I am more mature and would never handle situations the same as I did as a teen.

When I look back at my teen years, there are a few characteristics that I certainly could have done without:

  • Laziness
  • Not speaking my mind
  • Severe fear of the unknown
  • Shyness overload
  • Not paying attention

If this sounds like you as well, then congratulations. Join the club. My teenage years were actually much more fun than what the above characteristics would have you believe.

  • I had a diverse group of friends.
  • Had sleepovers.
  • Went to concerts (and some I went to with my parents because they liked the music I enjoyed too).
  • Experienced my first kiss at 14 years old(no one knew this…ooops!)
  • Went in a submarine with a tennis camp.
  • Was nearly picked for a modeling contract.
  • Honor Roll all my life.
