Best Places To Publish Your Book Of Poems In 2023

Here are some publication spots to really let your poems shine!

As an independent publsher and poet, I am always on the lookout for ways to publish my book and own my creative freedom. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with shooting for the Big Five publishers of course — I’m still considering going traditional with publishing. Until then, here are some places I’ve published my work and some I hope to publish with in the near future.

Amazon KDP

You knew it was coming.

Amazon is one of the biggest book house company ever, rivaling Barnes and Noble. They also let you publish your work independently.

Kindle Direct Publishing(KDP) was launched November 2007. It was originally dubbed the Digital Text Platform, released at the same time as their e-reader. So far I’ve published two books of poetry using their platform and a coloring book. Along with a couple of books under a different pen name.

It is super easy to use. I suggest using their Kindle Create app to clean up your docs and make publishing smooth. Reedsy is another great source to convert your files(more on Reedsy in another post).
