Tyler Perry, in the interview did specifically say that he was told as a child that "all Whites were racist"

This could be because his own parents lived during a time where the MAJORITY were racist and they wanted to protect him, or they may have seen more than him. Certainly his grandparents have. However as I mentioned before, when a person lives in a certain tax bracket they feel they don't have to have The Talk(but they should).

You are absolutely right about the microaggressions. We don't want to pummel our children to death with all the nuances and horrifying things about how to navigate spaces of covert hatred, but again, in my opinion I see no wrong in preparing our child this way.

A Black person who never experienced racism is not someone I can talk to when I do experience racism (and I have experienced it) because they will blame it on anything but the racism that still permeates the country this day.
