After Freeing Slaves, What Should My Response Be As a Slave Owner?
A random thought that had no business up in my head
While folding clothes and making the bed, a random thought popped into my head:
If I were a slave owner and belonged to a race of slave owners, and suddenly I have to set my slaves free, what should my reaction be?
If I and my people grabbed a whole race of people and made them work the land while I had my way with them, separated them, called them every name but a child of God, fed their babies to alligators, gave them bibles with torn pages to read from so I can keep them slave-minded, told them if they read, they can be killed —
Brought them on cramped ships full of feces, piss, and their own sweat.
Took them from their babies, cut off their penises, and hung them up in windows before going to church, roasted their bodies over an open fire as me and my children laughed run propaganda about how inferior they were so they can be viewed as monsters by other nations.
The only thing I could do….Is…
Say, “Hey! You know I am so sorry for what we have done to your people. Golly wow! What if I had to watch my loved one get buck broken in front of me? I would scream. I would — ”
